Bend Area Habitat for Humanity Partners with Earth Advantage®/Energy Star to Build Green Affordable Homes

Bend Area Habitat for Humanity (BAHFH) has become an Earth Advantage®/Energy Star builder. Homes constructed in Vida’s Village, its Daggett Road site, will be 15% more energy efficient than Oregon code requires. BAHFH is committed to building affordable housing that also provides affordable living.

Increased insulation, with tighter construction methods, will bring lower utility costs for Habitat homeowners. Increased ventilation and building materials, paints and carpeting with no noxious odors, will assure better indoor air quality. Durable construction materials will be selected, and construction waste will be minimized with job-site recycling utilized to the fullest.
