For two weeks, in August, 2007, BAHFH hosted 15 out-of-town volunteers, at the Vida’s Village 9 home development. These folks belong to the FMCA chapter of Habitat for Humanity, known as the Care-A-Vanners, and travel around in their RVs. The Care-A-Vanners donated 900 hours of service, accomplishing a tremendous amount of work on four houses, including pouring 2 more foundations. Thank you, to all the Care-A-Vanners ! Many churches, including Nativity Lutheran (Richard Berg), Oasis (Janice May), First Presbyterian (Joyce Purcell), Westside (Kent Couch), and Eastmont (Kathleen of the Moores), provided lunches at the construction site each day. Thanks to Three Sisters Academy, the Care-A-Vanners had the perfect place to park their RVs, with the necessary hook ups and water. Thanks to all, who welcomed the Care-A-Vanners with food and parking ! For information about the Care-A-Vanner program, contact jwashington@habitat.org.
