Since the 1st of January, 2009 the Habitat For Humanity(HFH) Deconstruction Team has salvaged 17,680lbs worth of material, which generated near $17,000 for the ReStore. This accomplishment pushed us past our previous record of $12,000 set in 2007. Our dedicated volunteers donated 255 hours of their own time to achieve this accomplishment and we could not have reached this goal without them! When you compare the total value of the material vs. total hours it took to deconstruct the material our volunteers were earning Habitat For Humanity $67.00 per hour they volunteered!
The Decon Team has had a great time disassembling temporary classrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, garage doors, windows, doors, and much much more. The salvaged material provides ReStore customers with affordable, quality building materials and raises funds to help build simple and decent housing here in Bend.
Deconstruction
is a great way to support Habitat For Humanity(HFH) and our environment. Come join us for a good time salvaging material with the HFH Deconstruction Team. We are always in need of more volunteers! If
you'd like to join us please email cdillon@bendhabitat.org or call 815-1602 for more information. Feel free to call or email with any questions.
Thanks for everyones hard work and dedication! God Bless
