Thursday is dedication day for Jenni, Roberto and Maria. Jenni's house will be all but done. We masked for door casing painting administered by Bob the Painter. Darrel did paint touch up all week, doors were painted, installed and knobbed. The outside trim was painted. We removed electrical plates insulation pads, put in insulation pads and replaced the plates. Solar panels were installed on the roof. At the last minute we discovered that the under the floor insulation was only one layer thick so all day Wednesday 4 hardy souls, most of them pretty new to Habitat, worked away like some kind of cross between beavers and moles. Big applause they got it done!
#5 Needs a bit more finishing - like next week. This week insulation went into the attic, floors were finished, mostly by the crew that went in last Thursday. The outside was painted. Now we need to do baseboards, door casings and all the things we did in #7 this week.
Meanwhile the framing continued on #8 over the second half of last week and some of the OSB is on. The pony wall On #6 was built and the joists installed. Time for the plumbers. #4 is ready for stem wall forms to be built. There were lots of people on site working in several crews. We're going to need more doughnuts!
