If the success of Habitat's mission could be measured just by the number of volunteers at the construction site this week, we definitely are overachieving. In the first part of the week, daily totals exceeded 60 volunteers, and more than 40 of those were college students from the University of Washington and Western Washington University spending their spring breaks helping build houses for our families. Insulation, sheet rocking, siding, moving scaffolding, and even some roofing were all on the agenda and significant progress recorded. Wednesday evening was also special as BAHFH celebrated Volunteer Night at the Deschutes Brewery. A large turnout of volunteers, staff and Board members made for a wonderful evening. A big thanks to the Deschutes Brewery for their generosity and contribution to the community.
We've created a photo album on Facebook of our big week. Friend 'Bend Area Habitat' to be able to see it and to stay in touch with our current volunteer needs and upcoming events.
