A few of the activities that have happened in the last month:
On January 16th, Seven Peaks Elementary took a field trip to our ReStore.At the ReStore we learned how the store recycles their materials, including copper wire, brass and metal and we put together and took apart door knobs.After learning about how the ReStore recycles we had a scavenger hunt, where students had to find all the items on their shopping list.
On January 19th we had a Global Village orientation.Time is flying by and we are getting excited about our next trip to
We also had another Youth Committee meeting on January 22nd.We are excited at the youth that are partnering with us and the excitement and enthusiasm they bring to our organization!
Also, you cannot forget the Nativity Lutheran construction site day we had on January 24th.Twenty volunteers came out on this day, including the Gainey's, the family whose house we worked on.We had a big group and we were able to paint the whole inside of the house in one day.Nativity Lutheran has a wonderful relationship with Bend Area Habitat For Humanity and we are so happy to have such a partnership.
Last week we also invited six new faces onto our board!Welcome Bruce Sullivan, Carole Nuckton, Bree Beal, Chelsea Schneider, Gerald Hill and Duncan Brown!
Events to watch for in February: Peterbuilt Kickoff February 6th, Seven Peaks Elementary Teacher/Parent Day on the construction site Feb.7th, Veteran/Young Builder Kickoff February 20th, Global Village orientation on Feb.23rd and do not miss Green Drinks at the ReStore on February 26th!
