We had a very cozy dedication for #8 - the Cheeneys' house. It was sprinkling so the whole crowd was in the living room! The drizzle let up for the scrumptious barbecue following. Many thanks to the Bend police officers who were out in force (so to speak) this last three days to help us meet our deadline. And, as ever, many thanks to Steve for his invaluable supervision during the finish work. We were all still working Wednesday morning. Glen said to stop doing touch up paint at around 10. The Cheeneys were very happy with their new home. Congratulations to them!
We still had a bit of time so we masked the windows and showers in #4 so that house can be textured and painted next. The ladies helped out in #8 so they didn't get too much done on the Women Build last Saturday. Many thanks to them and to Allison who helped with supervising in #8 while Jeff was out from foot surgery and Chris headed to PA to move their household effects to Bend.
Next week we'll be working in #6 getting ready for the Tour of Homes (we are still looking for volunteers to act as tour hosts - visit July’s Volunteer Up calendar for the schedule and in #4 as its deadline approaches. The women will be back at work in #18, and there is some talk of starting a couple more foundations as well.
We'll be busy.
