Photo mosaic of some of the features that have helped us reach a Platinum Energy Star rating in the ReStore Build
We have an in floor heating system coupled with a tankless water heater. The water cylces through the floor to heat the room and is already warm for the washing machine. On demand water heaters save a lot in energy costs because there is no large tank of water that has to be constantly heated to a set temperature.
Solar room. This room gathers heat in the winter and stays cool in the summer. There is a working window between it and the main house, so that when you get home from work on a cold winter day, you can open the window and allow additional warm air into the house to cut the chill you've brought home with you.
Speaking of solar...
This house has got solar electricity.
To reach the platinum level, we used recycled products such as:
reclaimed lumber from our ReStore, the headers and theses lovely cedar shingles.
The beautiful kitchen cabinets and the laundry room cabinet were out of the showroom of Moon Cabinets. The bathroom cabinets will be made out of recycled materials by Boxcar. No additional trees were harmed in the making of the cabinetry.
There are so many features of the house that aren't photographable which added to the Platinum rating. If you'd like to learn more, call Robin Cooper 541-385-5387 ext 229.
We are in the home stretch of this build and will be dedicating it to the Gochez family on July 15th. If you'd like to be part of this celebration, rsvp to Robin by July 9th.
