In Bend

Tatiana "Tanya” Bierschenk
Tanya has been enjoying her new job with Bend Broadband and is almost complete with her sweat equity hours. She is very excited to finish by working on her own home.
The Collins Family
Rick and Lynelle are busy raising and caring for 4 children. Both are working hard and gearing up for school to start. And they have been spending time getting to know their new mentor team, Allyson and Jim Kissell.

Lorinda Harris
"First of all I would like to say "Thank you" to all the volunteers who have come out to the job site at Merrick (and everywhere else)!!  I have truly enjoyed meeting as many volunteers as I can and working side by side them.  You are keeping the job site going.  My family and I are doing so wonderfully.  It is so unbelievably exciting to be future homeowners and I can't wait for my kids to experience living in a house.  They are going to be attending Ponderosa Elementary this year, so that will be a great transition right down the street from our new home.  We are truly blessed with all the wonderful changes, challenges and love that is surrounding us.  All of the families have worked so hard and we are all so excited to be future neighbors.  Hope everyone had a fun summer and look forward to the fall and season's change.  Again, thank you everyone!”
Barb Smith and Erik Hardin
Erik continues to be the full time dad and care taker for his disabled son, and for his college-bound older son. Grandma Barb is hard-working and supportive of her family. They are working toward a multigenerational home.
Amber Schmied
As a single mom struggling with crohn’s disease and a recent related surgery, Amber is feeling better and is enjoying health and energy in her life. She is happy to be able to spend more quality time with her daughter.

Dorinda Vetterick
Dorinda is a single mom of 2 children and they have all been working hard for almost a year towards their Habitat home. Everything is right on track and they are excited to have a stable home to call their own.

Bel Winkle
Bel is our LEED Build family and she has been very involved in the choosing of concrete colors and other details of her home as it is well under way on the construction schedule.

The Fischer’s
Lisa and Dennis and their family of three children are our very first "Step Up” home owners. Currently living in a Habitat home in the Daggett neighborhood they are so happy to be able to have the space they need in another Habitat home. They would not have been able to make this happen without the Habitat programs. Their remodeled home on Cleveland (currently in progress) is growing to fit their family and they are very involved in the rehab of the home, too. They are landscaping and Dennis is assisting with the installation of the heating and cooling system of the home.

In Prineville

The Gallenero Family
Mike and Mandy and their three children are very familiar with Habitat because their grandma Floy has been one of our most dedicated and long term volunteers in the Prineville community. Mike and Mandy came into the program in April of 2011.

Lisa Randall
"My children and I are really happy to be in the Habitat program and we love working on the yards and houses. It makes us feel like we are accomplishing a goal.”
Suzie Wiechert "We are doing well. I have just one more financial class to take. The next step is to finish my sweat equity hours and my savings account. So we are really working at it.”
