homeownership/congrats

congratulations New homeowners!

When a family gets the call telling them they've been accepted into our homeownership program they celebrate.  Three months into the program they smile politely at us as they rub the blisters on their hands caused by swinging a hammer.  At six months they might moan when we call to ask them to speak at a church or fold newsletters.  At a year, communication can be reduced to a growl as they wonder, "When will we ever get into our house!"  Well, it really does happen.  After lots of sweat, tears, laughs, and cheers we celebrate together the accomplishment of homeownership.  May your homes be blessed with love and good fortune, new Habitat homeowners.

the greenwalt family

Amber and Joshua Greenwalt have lived in Bend for ten years.  They are members of New Hope Church, and have two amazing children. Joshua works for Cessna and Amber has begun her own business as a massage therapist, At Your Service Mobile Massage, in addition to raising the kids. Their oldest, Emily, is 8 years old and she attends Eastmont school. Her favorite thing to do is tae-kwon-do, where she recently earned her yellow belt. The youngest Greenwalt is Sharai, who is 10 months old and has captivating blue eyes. Read the Greenwalt story.

We are proud to introduce the Gaineys. Mike works for Kleinfelder and Suzanne is a worship leader at Nativity Lutheran Church. Mike has served his country in the United States Marines during Operation Desert Storm, and also his community as a deputy sheriff. Suzanne has worked as a music teacher in elementary and middle schools. They have two adorable daughters. Their oldest, Hannah, is four, and loves swimming, singing, and dancing. Gretchen, who is almost two, loves kicking soccer balls, climbing things or playing in a sandbox. Read the Gainey's story.
