The Corpus Family

Kim Corpus is a single mother of four, and is excited to join the  Habitat community here in Bend. She works full time as a stylist for Salon Estillo and is a member of the Eagle Mountain Fellowship Church. Her oldest, Noah (top right in the picture), is fourteen. He loves music and camping. Her daughter Guenna (far left) is twelve. At this point in her life, she enjoys singing and dancing, doing her hair and makeup, and talking to friends on the phone. Guenna has also learned some survival skills living in a house with three brothers.

Andy (bottom right) is nine years old, and he is the charismatic entertainer of the family. Kim said, Andy is always making other kids laugh. Hes very friendly and good-natured. Hell make up songs and sings them in the car. Hes an entertainer for sure. The youngest, Seth (bottom center) is six years old and in first grade. He loves swimming and very much looks up to his two older brothers.

Since being selected to purchase a home with Habitat, Kim and her kids have become active parts of our community. Kim has spoken regularly at churches about her experience, hammered nails on our construction, and even did the Bible presentation at the House Dedication for another Habitat family. She is very much looking forward to having a stable affordable home for her family, where she can feel confident that they will be able to stay there for many years.

When asked about a dream for her familys future, Kim said, Id love to be able to take the kids on family vacations, or even just some small trips. With Habitat, my house payment will be more affordable, so hopefully we will have the chance to do that.
