Home Maintenance Tips

Remember, if you take care of it now, it will save you $ later. Habitat only warranties items for up to one year. After that your home maintenance is up to you.
 

Homeowner Maintenance

Indoor

  • Inspect plumbing shutoff valves, repair or replace as necessary

Outdoor

  • Open foundation vents and remove foam covering from exterior faucets.
  • Yard clean-up! See the attached Fire Free Recycling dates coming up this month.
  • Also, if you live in Full Moon they are having a free dumpster placed Friday May 11-18th.

 

If you are a disabled veteran or spouse of (or have a relative who is) please look into a possible property tax exemption. Cold save you a bunch of $!!  MORE INFO

Their mission is to promote a positive understanding of disability and community inclusion, as well as be a source of support, information, and education for families and professionals. They do this by empowering and supporting families and individuals who have been touched by disability. They work to increase education, promote public understanding and acceptance, and encourage full inclusion of individuals with differences in our community.  Some of what they offer include; parent and family support and networking, resource referral, quarterly activities for families, quarterly newsletter, expert guest lectures & consulting, assistance navigating systems and programs, new parent education & support, and community education and awareness.

BAHFH has another FREE refurbished computer for the first person to contact me after reading this email. All you need to do is take a test on Computer Basics and Internet Safety. However, if you are interested, please let me know because we can possibly get more computers through Habitat International’s partnership with RedemTech.
 
 
 
 
 
BAHFH is celebrating our 100th home in June and throughout the year! This is a huge milestone for Bend Area Habitat for Humanity, the community and families we serve! You will be hearing more about the next 100 in the months to come.
 
 
 
 
 
And, a big "woot, woot!” to all the mommies out there this month. Happy Mother’s Day.
