Jenni and Alec Hurlburt

I am a single parent of a 5 year old little boy named Alec; we are very excited to be a part of the Habitat program. I work at Mt Bachelor in the accounting department and am also a part-time college student taking classes through the Linfield College Adult Degree Program. I am working towards my BS in Accounting. My goal is to have a home where Alec can be safe and feel secure, as well as being able to provide a better life for him. I am a voracious reader but my main interest is Alec.

Alec is all about trains, any kind of train. He got his first Thomas set when he was almost 2 and was hospitalized for pneumonia. Alec started Kindergarten this year at Ponderosa Elementary where he is learning to read. He also started ski lessons this year and is very excited about it.

I have lived in the Bend area on and off since I was 10 years old. I returned to the Bend area when Alec was born to be closer to my family. The part that I enjoy most about living in this area is the ability to find nature and clean air. I very much want to thank the Habitat volunteers and donors for the opportunity to be a Habitat Family member. In being a part of the program it has opened my eyes to the fact that there are still good people in the world who genuinely want to help people to succeed. Thank you so much.
