Marrow, Blood Cell Transplants Provide Second Chance at Life For Thousands

BEND, Oregon -- St. Francis Catholic Church is pleased to announce its participation in the National Marrow Donor Recruitment Campaign. A community recruitment drive will be taking place in our local area. This drive will provide our local community members the opportunity to join others across the country who want to give the gift of life by joining the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) Registry. The local drive will take place on:

Sunday, February 22, 2009

8:00a.m.to 3:00p.m

 St. Francis Catholic Center

 2450 NE 27th Street, Bend, Oregon 97701.

"Right now Miguel Pulido, a resident of Bend, Oregon needs a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant. Miguel and thousands of other patients with life-threatening diseases need transplants and do not find a donor in their family. We are encouraging local residents to come to the drive to learn how they could help save a life," said Delores Rue-Jones.
