homeownership: meet the neal family

Hello! I would like to introduce myself: My name is Becky Neal, and I have a thirteen year old daughter named Miyah. I am a single mother and I grew up in Bend and have really wanted stable housing for myself and my daughter. That is why I applied for a Habitat House.
I feel very honored to have been chosen for a Habitat Home -- especially for the Women's Build. I will not lie; at times it has been very challenging being a single mom. It is a balancing act of putting in my sweat equity hours, being available to my daughter, and working full time at St. Charles Hospital. But with determination and hard work it can be accomplished!
There are times when I feel extremely overwhelmed and I need to ask for help. That is not always easy for me to do, however, accepting assistance from friends, family, my family partner, and Habitat for Humanity has been a very enriching process.
I take pride in the fact that I have taken all of the program requirements very seriously and have completed them with honesty and integrity. It is important for me to demonstrate character and accountability in this program because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I also want to be a good example to my daughter and represent the Hospital with the reputation it deserves.
That is my story... it's just the beginning for Miyah and me, and I look forward to what the future holds for us in our new home!
